Seesaw
It may be that you do not see as many posts on Seesaw just now as we are having some technical issues around uploading photos. Please bear with us while we seek advice around this.
Halloween Party
Many thanks indeed to our fantastic Parent Council who helped organise the fantastic Village Halloween party on Sunday. The costumes were amazing and the games were brilliant. We also loved seeing all the creative, environmentally-friendly decorations that the children had made ahead of the party. Thanks to Mr Carter for capturing some great photos of the event which you can check out here: Halloween Party – Tayvallich Primary School and ELC
Logo competition
Argyll and Bute Council are running a logo competition Young People across Argyll & Bute have explored ideas as to how to recognise and celebrate Children’s Rights. They are particularly keen to recognise when adults get it right for children and young people and to encourage more adults to do so. To recognise this we are asking young people to design a logo that can be used on badges and award plaques.
The children will get some time to work on this in school but you may also want them to do a design at home. You can find more information here:
The logo should
- be no larger than A4
- fit with the strapline that was created by young people: Open Your Eyes to Children’s Rights
- be suitable for use on a badge or award plaque (there is no defined shape for this)
- Entries should arrive no later than Friday 15th November
- Entries should be sent to: argyllhousereception@argyll-bute.gov.uk
- Designs can be as colourful as you like
- Entries should observe copyright laws (all designs should be the child/young person’s own work)
- Entries can be submitted by an individual or as part of a group. There is no limit to the number of entries a school can submit.
- Entries should include the name(s) and age(s) of the designer(s) and contact details for the submission.
Submitted designs may feature on Argyll & Bute’s website and/or social media. By submitting your design, you are giving consent for this to be shown in this way.
This competition is open to children and young people throughout Argyll & Bute up to the age of 18. The winning applicant will have their design made into the final products and see their design feature throughout Argyll & Bute.
The winning designer(s) will also receive a Scotland Loves Local Gift Card to the value of £50.
Woodland Detectives
Next week on Friday our Primary 1 to 5 pupils will be working with Mrs Jacquelyn Condie from Kilmartin House Museum on an exciting Woodland Detectives project. This will culminate in a visit to Taynish National Nature Reserve later this term, when the children will work with Jacquelyn and Heather Goodwin from NatureScot and explore the fantastic environment of the reserve and temperate rain forest.
Good luck to Mrs Dixon
I know that you will join me in wishing best wishes to Mrs Dixon as she starts her maternity leave today. We are hoping for news, photos and a visit as soon as she can manage!
As of next week, Mrs Mes will be covering class teacher non-contact time; she will be taking the P5 to 7 class on a WEDNESDAY (error in previous version – updated 5.11.24) and the P1 to 4 class on a Tuesday afternoon and on a Friday.
Have a lovely weekend.
