Important News and Information:

Garden Tidy

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped with our garden tidy on Thursday afternoon.  We are still looking for donations of compost or plants/seeds to help us continue growing and maintaining our garden.  Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Mrs Fraser’s Baby

In last week’s update we were excited to share that Mrs Fraser had had her baby – and this week the children were delighted to receive an email to introduce herself and share what she’d been up to for her first few days in the world, including some early level homework! Her name is Alba, known as Albie. We’re all looking forward to meeting baby Albie very soon.

Parents Portal
Please be aware that the new parentsportal, which communication was issued about centrally and from us here at school, is now live. You need to sign up for a mygov.scot account for access to the parentsportal, then you need to link your children. If you need any support with this, please let us know. It will take a while to get everyone signed up, but once we’re all there, there will be some great benefits including access to edit your child’s information that we hold, complete permission slips online, book slots for parents’ evening and reporting any absences or appointments.

Recipe Books

There’s still some recipe books available to purchase – and we’re happy to take orders ahead of the next run. So, if you didn’t get one on the day and would like one, please email enquiries and we’ll arrange getting that to you. They are £9.00 each and have been compiled by the pupils. All funds raised will go to the parent council.

Upcoming Events

Holiday Monday 25th May

Please keep in mind that next week is 4 day week – no school on Monday as it’s a Holiday, we’ll see you all back on Tuesday 26th May

Hope Spot- Wednesday 27th May
We have our Hope Spot activities taking place on Wednesday the 27th May. P1-4 and P5-7 were sent letters home this week about their respective activities along with their EV5 permission slip. Please make sure your permission slip is returned on Tuesday 26th May if you haven’t already done so. Looks like the weather is going to be on our side – if you have any questions about what your child might need on the day then please get in touch.

P7 Residential Monday 1st – Wednesday 3rd June

Our P7 Pupils will be heading off on their residential trip to the Lochranza Outdoor Centre on the Isle of Arran on Monday 1st June, staying 2 nights, for 3 full days of activities along with P7s from Glassary and Kilmartin Primary Schools. P7 parents should have all the information they need ahead of this very exciting trip but if there’s anything we can help with in the approach, please let us know.

Great Athlete Visit 8th June

On Monday Morning we had our Athlete assembly and found out that our visiting Athlete will be Paralympic footballer, Jonny Paterson. We were also told what activities he would be doing with us as our training circuit.

Each child will have brought home a sponsor form. You can sponsor them to take part in the circuit and if we raise enough money through sponsors we should be able to get some new PE equipment!

EV5 Permission slips for the visit on 8th June will be going out next week. All 3 schools – Tayvallich, Craignish and Glassary will be together at Glassary Primary School for the day and we’re very much looking forward to it!
