Reports

You should all now have received your mid-session pupil progress reports. We hope that these were informative and provided you with some useful information and insight ahead of our parents evening meetings next week. Please remember to provide us with your feedback on the reports at your earliest convenience as this is incredibly important to us.

Parents Evenings

Parents Evening meetings will be after school on Tuesday 10th November. You should all have received appointment times via email this week. These will be 10 minute slots, either in person or a telephone call.

We’ve done our best to accommodate any requests and hope that your appointment time is suitable, if for any reason you need to change anything about your appointment please let us know as soon as possible via the enquiries email address, thank you.

Lantern Parade

The Lantern Parade is on in Lochgilphead this Saturday, 7th November. Lanterns have been made and decorated in School in the last few weeks, but some of you may also have made a lantern with another group, so may have more than one!

They will be sent home from school today for you to take along with you and MAYDS (Mid Argyll Youth Development) have sent us the below schedule for the evening:

5.45-6.15pm – Please come to the MAYDS Building (the corner of union street) for collection of lanterns and parade set up – You will not need to collect your lanterns as you’ll have them with you, but you will need to collect a cane for carrying it, so please arrive in plenty of time.
6.30pm – parade will leave MAYDS, go along Union Street, up Brodie Crescent, along Manse Brae towards the Co-op, then down the Main Street to the roundabout. Aiming to finish for 7pm – just in time for the lighting of the bonfire and firework display.

If people cannot walk far, they are welcome to join the parade at later stages.

If your child is unable to attend the parade, they are welcome to take their lantern home and light it up on the night so that they can still be part of the event

School Play Fever

It’s another busy week next week – we had a short assembly this week to remind the children that on Monday preparations will begin for this year’s school play! The children will see the script and find out their parts – and we will begin looking at lines and songs.

The school play will need lots of helpers again this year so if you are available to help facilitate rehearsals or to assist with props or lights in the run up and on the night then please let us know as we would love to have some volunteers.

You may also have heard that we’ve switched up the classrooms in the run up to Christmas. We told the children about this change yesterday and we’ve already started establishing our new routine. We have some staffing changes in the coming weeks as we say goodbye to Ms MacKinnon next Friday, so to help with that and with the joint learning and play rehearsals we’ve come into the one classroom for full days rather than being separate in the morning and together in the afternoons. We hope that the children have enjoyed this new schedule today and look forward to some of you seeing our new shared space on Tuesday for parents evening.

Flu Vaccines

On Thursday we have a visit from the health team to provide flu vaccinations to those that wish them – if you still have your consent form, please remember to return this. All forms need to be returned whether you have chosen for your child to receive the vaccine or not.

Children in Need

Next Friday, 13th November – as well as being Ms MacKinnon’s last day – it’s also Children in Need day!

Children can come to school in something yellow or spotty if they wish and we will be setting each other some fun fundraising challenges throughout the day!

We have set ourselves a target of £100. You can donate by following the link to our JustGiving page below:
