Welcome back to school – we hope you all enjoyed the October Break.

Staffing Update

We have some news regarding our teaching staff for this term. We are sad to share that the fantastic Ms MacKinnon will be moving on. She has secured a full time, permanent post at Glenbarr Primary School. We are very happy for her, but she will be sorely missed here at Tayvallich. Ms MacKinnon’s last day with us will be Friday 13^th November.

Reports

Reports will be issued on Thursday 29^th October, so please look out for envelopes in bags.

Halloween

Next Friday, 30^th October, we will be having a Halloween themed day. Our learning will have a spooky theme, and we’ll have some fun activities too.

Children are welcome to come to school in costume if they wish – however we ask that these are practical and comfortable to wear throughout the school day, nothing that they won’t be able to move around in easily or mind getting wet or messy during breaktimes.

Part of the fun will include some sweeties (it is Halloween after all!)

Please check your inboxes for a separate email, asking permission for your child to consume some sweet treats at school next Friday. Please respond to this as soon as possible so that we can plan activities accordingly.

Upcoming this term

Please remember that our online calendar is updated regularly with upcoming school events, including term dates, planned trips and activities and open afternoons. Please note there are a couple of revised dates for November:

Parents Evenings meetings will now be on Tuesday 10^th November and our next Curricular Café will be on Wednesday 25^th November.

You can view the full calendar here: Events from October 29 – January 5, 2027 – Tayvallich Primary School and ELC

New Menu

There’s been some amendments to the primary school menu for this term and although you see the options on ipayimpact when you make your choices each week, we always think it’s nice to have a copy of the menu at home for reference, so we have sent these home in bags today.
