Our Community Showcase
You should all now have received your invitation to our showcase on Friday 25th September. Please make sure you email enquiries as soon as possible with your ticket orders, stating how many tickets you require and for which show. As we explained on the invite and at the curricular café, seats are limited – and we don’t want anyone to miss out. Please find below our current timings of the day which may help you decide which show you wish to attend:
Pupils to be dropped off at school at the regular time of 9am on the day. Transport has been arranged from Tayvallich Primary school to Craignish village hall for all pupils.
We expect to arrive in Ardfern around 11am, when we will have a dress rehearsal of the show followed by lunch.
At 1pm we will do the first show.
At 2:30pm the second show will take place.
We anticipate that the second showing will finish around 3:30pm, when parents will be welcome to take their children home. There is no school transport provision available so parents will be required to collect their children from Ardfern following the showcase.
Craignish Village Hall
Craignish Village Hall has several spaces which we can use to display work and serve refreshments as well as host the performance. The hope is that families will have some time before, after or between performances to see the children’s work and to mingle with each other, alongside attending the show itself.
Small Hall Upstairs
Work will be displayed from all three schools in the smaller upstairs hall for parents to browse through.
Main Hall Upstairs
This will be where the theatre showcase takes place. Attendees will need tickets to come in, which we will be provided from school.
Downstairs Hall
Parent Councils will provide tea, coffee and biscuits/cakes for a donation towards our Joint Parent Councils.
Parking
There is a good-sized car park at the hall but with families from all three settings invited to attend we would appreciate that in cases where car sharing is possible this is considered.
Curricular Café
It was lovely to see so many of you for our first curricular café of the year despite it being so early in the term. Curricular cafes are an opportunity to see your child’s work and hear updates from staff on current goings on. The next curricular café is Tuesday 10th November and our online calendar has been updated to show all key events for the year.
School Council Election Day
School Council Elections are scheduled to take place on Thursday 10th September. Pupil Council is a really exciting opportunity for our children to develop their leadership skills. Elections are open to all children. The pupil council gives our pupils a voice and supports with making decisions about what happens in our school. Good Luck to all our candidates!
Flu Vaccines
Thank you to everyone who has handed back their Child Flu Vaccine forms. Please remember that forms must be completed and returned whether you wish your child to receive the vaccine in school or not.

Documentary
For our part in the showcase we are producing our own documentary on our community. Please check your inbox for a separate email from us regarding exceptional filming permission which we require your response by Tuesday.
Pupils will be carrying out a number of interviews in the next two weeks with members of our community. Some will take place in school and some will require going out and about in the village. We’re very excited about this!
