Trip to Kilmartin Museum
We had a brilliant trip on Wednesday to Kilmartin Museum! We spent some time looking around the museum itself and went for a walk to one of the burial cairns. The most exciting part of the day was definitely being allowed to handle some of the exhibits! All our children were exceptionally well behaved and were a credit to our school and to themselves. We are super proud of you all!
Curricular Café
We can’t believe we have already completed our second week of learning, and we have got off to a flying start! All parents and carers are invited to come along to a Curricular Café on Tuesday 1st September at 2pm. This is a great opportunity to hear from the headteacher, see what we have been up to so far and to allow you to talk to your child(ren) about their own learning. We hope to see as many of you there as can make it! If you are able to come along then please email enquiries by Monday to let us know.
Community Showcase
This term all three schools have been exploring our local areas, with a particular focus on celebrating what makes each of our communities unique and special. We are so excited to announce that we will be taking part in a Community Showcase in Craignish Village Hall on the 25th of September to share our work and present our own Tayvallich performance. This is going to be a busy day of joint learning. Parents and carers will be invited to come along and we would love to see you there. Please expect more information from us next week.
Magazines, Newspapers and Leaflets
Ms Mackinnon is still looking for any unwanted magazines or newspapers please. If you have any to spare, then please bring them in. Remember, these are for a crafting activity though so won’t be returned.
Both classes are also looking for leaflets which could help us with our learning about our community. These do not necessarily need to be local ones (though that would be ideal!) but it would be great to have plenty so that we can compare which styles, content and layouts work best.
Flu Vaccines
Thank you to everyone who has handed back their Child Flu Vaccine forms. Please remember that forms must be completed and returned whether you wish your child to receive the vaccine in school or not.
Keeping Children Safe Online Webinar
Parenting Across Scotland are hosting a free event for parents and carers around around keeping children safe online that may be of interest.
This webinar is being delivered in partnership by Parenting Across Scotland, Police Scotland’s Cybercrime Harm Prevention Team and Education Scotland. There will be a short presentation by Police Scotland exploring how you can help keep yourself and your loved ones safe whilst online, followed by Education Scotland discussing concerns about the use of technology in schools and digital awareness in the curriculum, then an opportunity to ask questions.

School Transport Drivers

Appropriate Clothing and Footwear
We are still enjoying some beautiful days and do hope that it will last a little longer, however please make sure that all children come to school prepared with suitable clothing and footwear each day. We like to learn and play outside as much as possible and to do this we require everyone to have appropriate and safe footwear and a jacket just in case.
School Drop off and Collection
Thank you for returning your annual data checks. Many of you have updated your emergency contacts list which is very helpful. However we continue to ask that you update us if your collection arrangements have changed. If someone different is going to be collecting your child regularly, for example, a grandparent every Thursday, then please let us know. Otherwise if it is going to be somebody different to the norm then please let us know via enquiries that morning.
