Lantern Making Today
We had great fun making our lanterns today. They are hanging up to dry in the classroom and we will have the opportunity to decorate them after the holidays. Each child will have come home with the following information in their bags, which we have also copied here:
“Your child has made a willow lantern at school today. The lantern is numbered and assigned to your child and will initially be stored at school and then taken to MAYDS in Lochgilphead. The Lantern Parade will be on Saturday 7th November. We are asking people who are parading to meet at MAYDS (corner of Union Street/Manse Brae), from 5.45-6.15pm. We will then walk along Union street, up Brodie Crescent, down Manse Brae to the top of Main Street, down Main Street to the Front Green.
If your child is unable to attend the parade, they are welcome to take their lantern home and light it up on the night so that they can still be part of the event.”
Childsmile
We had our visit from Childsmile this week and are pleased to report that they were very impressed with everyone’s toothbrushing in class. They also provided us with our toothpaste and toothbrush packs which went home in bags yesterday.
Bonfire Presentation
P6 and P7 took part in an online presentation with Colin MacLean-Fleming from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service this week. There was several schools from Argyll and Bute online with us and the children did well at answering questions and demonstrating the stop, drop and roll technique – if you don’t know what this is, get them to show you at home!
