Important Information:

P7 Extended Transitions
Every Wednesday afternoon, our P7 pupils will continue their 10‑week Enhanced Transition Programme, designed to support and prepare them for their move to High School. Further information about the transition process was sent out before the holidays, along with details regarding the upcoming residential.

Gigha School Trip
We are very excited to announce that on Wednesday the 29th April we will be going on our whole school trip to the Isle of Gigha. Transport has been arranged from Tayvallich to Tayinloan via West Coast Motors where we will board the ferry to Gigha as foot passengers. This will tie in very nicely to the P5-7’s learning about CalMac. During our visit we will spend time with the Island Ranger around Achamore Gardens and visit the Wee Isle Dairy for ice cream! All pupils should be at Tayvallich Primary School for 8:15am for an 8:30am departure. We expect to arrive back for 4:30pm, when all pupils should be collected. A packed lunch, water bottle and snacks will be required, and pupils must wear their full school uniform. We are hoping for a sunny day, but children must come prepared for all weathers and have with them a waterproof jacket, sun hat and sturdy outdoor footwear. We will not be taking a vehicle on to the island and so a school bag or similar backpack will be required to carry belongings. There is no cost to families for this trip as the transport has been generously funded by our amazing Parent Council and additional costs covered by Rag Bag Fundraising. Letters will be sent home in bags tonight with additional information and EV5 permission slips must be returned by Monday morning.

Rights Respecting

We have all been working really hard towards our Rights Respecting Silver Award. You should have received an email from us earlier this week asking for some parental views which will really help us! We are asking you to provide one sentence to sum up our school and it’s community which we can include to support our application for our Silver Award. This will be submitted on Wednesday. We really value parent involvement and this would be very beneficial to our application- thank you in advance! The children have been working very hard this week to create a short film as part of their award which we can’t wait to share with you!

Sunshine

As we have been enjoying some well-deserved sunnier weather this week, please could parents ensure that all children come to school with sun hats in their bags and apply suncream before school as you see fit. Long may the sunshine continue!

Pick‑Up Arrangements
A friendly reminder that any changes to pick‑up arrangements—outside of your child’s primary contacts—must be shared with the school via the enquiries email. This helps us ensure all children remain safe and that we are fully informed about who is collecting them. This includes playdates, relatives or family friends collecting your child, or occasions when your child is making their own way home.
