Great Athlete Visit at Glassary Primary School 8th June

We are all very much looking forward to meeting our great athlete, Jonny Patterson, we have lots of questions to ask him.  It will also be a great opportunity for pupils to catch up with their peers from our partner schools.  Children should arrive wearing their P.E kit and outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather, as our activities will be outside.  A packed lunch will be required, if you have not yet ordered a packed lunch via ipayimpact, this will need to be provided from home.

A reminder that our drop off time at Glassary is 9.30am and our collection time is 2.45pm. We have staggered drop off and collection times to try to avoid too much congestion.

We hope that your sponsor forms are filling up! We have a week after the event to gather in our sponsor money, so please return the form and any funds collected to school by Friday 12th June.

P.7 Residential and Transition Days

Our Primary 7 pupils and Ms MacKinnon returned from their 3 day residential on Arran this week – having had an action packed few days! We’re still waiting on the photos and look forward to sharing them soon.

The P7s will be attending the High School on Tuesday the 9th and Wednesday the 10th of June and Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th of June, for their full induction days. We wish them the best of luck with this and can’t wait to hear all about it.

Sports Day 26th June

As you know, our Sports Day is planned for Friday 26th June, when we will welcome pupils, parents and staff from Glassary and Craignish Primary Schools to join us at Tayvallich.

The activities have been planned by Erin Downie at Active Schools along with the young leaders from each of the three schools.

There’s a schedule of events which will begin at 11am and finish at the end of the school day at 3.15pm. We will make use of the sports field and sports court at the Village Hall.

We would love to see as many of you there as possible, even if you can’t stay for the duration, we hope you can come and enjoy some of the events. Therefore, we will provide an insight into the schedule as soon as it has been finalised – we know you won’t want to miss the parents’ race!

End of Term Arrangements

The last day of term is Wednesday 1st July, when we will close at 1.30pm. We have been advised that our catering team at Ardrishaig will be providing packed lunches that day – although this has not yet been updated on ipayimpact. There will be three choices of sandwich filling to choose from, and we should be able to place our orders via ipayimpact once the change has been made. If you would rather provide a packed lunch from home, then you are welcome to do so and you should select packed lunch as normal.

Leavers Assembly

Our end of term and leaver’s assembly will be Tuesday 30th June from 2pm. All parents are welcome to attend our final assembly of the school year, when we will be saying goodbye to our P7s who move up to high school and looking forward to the year ahead.

ELC Re-opening

We’re really pleased to share that we have successfully appointed staff for our vacancies in the ELC and very much look forward to it reopening in August. We have really missed having the ELC open and are excited to be welcoming some new staff – and some new children to team Tayvallich.
