Staffing
The children may have told you that we have had a new support member of staff in this week. Miss Daisy Carter will be working across both Glassary and Tayvallich Schools from now until the end of term.
P7 Residential to Lochranza
I cannot begin to tell you how brilliant it was to spend time with the P7s over the last few days on Arran. The children from all three school mixed brilliantly and embraced all of the challenges with determination and enthusiasm. The centre staff were hugely impressed with them and fed back to me how polite and respectful they were.
I sent photos to the P7 parents each night to help them see how great a time we were having and will edit these over the next few days and upload them to the website for you all to see.
Fabulous Family Fridays.
We have had two really interesting inputs from parents over the last fortnight. On Friday 30th June, Biddy gave us an amazing talk and demonstration about the work she does as an Agricultural Advisor for the Scottish Government. She showed us how sheep have their ears tagged and explained why and also demonstrated some of the state of the art equipment she uses for surveying.
Check out the photos from her visit here: Family Family Friday with Biddy – Tayvallich Primary School and ELC
Today (Friday 6th June) we also welcomed Sharyn who spoke about her work as a midwife and explained how she cares for expectant mums and babies before, during and after childbirth. The children really enjoyed learning about what mums and babies need and being reminded that above all, babies need love to thrive and develop.
Thanks so very much to Biddy and Sharyn for giving up their time to do this.
Festival Preparation
At food club, pupils have been honing their food prep skills so that that they can bring you some tasty delights at our Festival on Friday 20th June. We hope as many of you will be able to make it along as possible.

Hope Spot Day 1 – Wednesday 11th June
We are very excited about our Hope Spot Activities next Wednesday, about which you received information from Mrs Briggs and Keira Anderson this week. Many thanks for returning the consent forms so promptly. Mrs Briggs still needs some information from some of you about kit for the session the following week at Keills and will contact you if this is the case.
P7 High School Induction Days.
We wish our P7s all the best next week for the first of your High School Induction Days next Wednesday and Thursday. All the information you need has been sent to you by the High School so check out the Handbook if you have any questions about arrangements, including lunches, transport or timings.
Have a great weekend.
