P5 to 7 and ELC – St Andrew’s Day

The pupils in the P5 to 7 class continued developing their skills, knowledge and understanding of food properties and nutrients this week, as part of our Health and Wellbeing curriculum. They worked co-operatively in teams to make delicious shortbread for St Andrew’s Day and I know that some of the shortbread was sent home for family members. I am just very disappointed that I was in Glassary on Thursday and missed getting a taste! I will plan better for next year!!

Over in the ELC, the children made some fantastic tartan for St Andrew’s Day, explored patterns and showed off their fantastic creativity and craft skills.

You can see some pictures of their fantastic work in our website Gallery and by following the link here: https://www.tayvallich.argyll-bute.sch.uk/p5-to-7-shortbread-making-lesson-for-st-andrews-day/

P1 to 4

Now that December has arrived, the P1 to 4 class has moved aside the wonderful work from their Egyptians project and has been using Advent, Christmas and other winter festivals as a context for their learning.

They have been looking at number patterns in numeracy using Christmas images and finding out about Christmas and Advent traditions as part of RMPS.
