Fabulous work

Don’t forget to look at the class Seesaw accounts to see evidence of your child’s fantastic work as well as ideas for how you can support learning at home and details of homework. If you are not able to access Seesaw, please get in touch.

Induction days

Last week we were absolutely delighted to welcome the new P1s into the P1 to 4 class on Tuesday for their first formal morning in the Primary School. They had a great time and impressed us so much by being Ready, Respectful and Safe. We can’t wait to see them for a full day next Tuesday.

The P7s also seemed to have a great two days at High School as S1s, although we miss them already!

The High School has asked us to pass on this message:

Please can you make sure that all your P7s coming for the induction days next week have their Young Scot Cards with them so that the kitchen can activate them.

Vaccinations – New P1s and new S1s

Please look out for emails sent to the parents of our new P1 and new S1 (current P7) pupils today about the importance of MMR vaccinations.

iPayimpact Registration for new P1s

Information regarding iPayimpact account registration will be sent today to parents of ELC pupils starting P1 in August. This will allow you to register your child’s account and pre-order their school lunch with them ahead of their induction day on Tuesday 18th June. The letter will be accompanied with some FAQ’s, but should you experience any difficulties, please contact the office.

Growing Challenges

We had our final visit of the term from Bob Moyes today, who offered some words of encouragement on the growing challenges. A paper copy of this update will be going home in bags today.

Next session – parental engagement

As you know, we love welcoming you into our school to be part of learning activities with the children. Next session we are looking to extend this and will be inviting you as parents to take part in the following:

  • Learning with your child

We would love it if every one of you could come in and experience how learning in the classroom works alongside your child at some point in the year. We know that many of you work so we will be asking you to give us dates when this might work for you.

  • Parents as role models – invitation to come in and talk about your career

As adults we are all role models and sources of inspiration and information for all of the children in our community. In order that they can find out about a range of jobs and career opportunities, we would like to invite you to come and talk about the work you do and the path you took to get into it. As above, we will plan this around your work. If you can’t attend in person due to work or other commitments, you could perhaps record a video message.

Have a lovely weekend.

Lena
