Two day inter-disciplinary environment residency – update.

As mentioned in the last update, we have arranged two days of workshops for the P5 to 7 classes from Tayvallich and Glassary which will take place on Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st May in and around Tayvallich. More information and consents forms will be issued next week.

We have also have some very exciting music opportunities coming up over the next month, thanks to Sarah. On the afternoon Thursday 9th May, all pupils will be involved in a workshop with two extremely talented guitarists from Cuba (who will then be performing in the Village Hall in the evening) and on Thursday 16th May, some of the pupils will be performing at a lunch for the older residents of the village, also in the Village Hall.

Fabulous work

Don’t forget to look at the class Seesaw accounts to see evidence of your child’s fantastic work as well as ideas for how you can support learning at home and details of homework. If you are not able to access Seesaw, please get in touch. Please note that following recent updates around the way we use data in Seesaw, photographs in Seesaw are now subject to the same restrictions as those posted on social media. If you have not given consent for sharing of images of your child on social media, we will only share photos of your child in their individual Seesaw Account.

Outdoor play

You will know from talking to the children that lunchtime play has been full of fun since the new resources and zones have been in place. The weather was a little uncooperative earlier in the week but the last couple of days have seen everyone enjoying their time outside.

Sun protection

With the move in recent days to warmer weather, may I please remind you of the guidance on sun protection in our school handbook:

Your child’s skin may be affected by exposure to the sun, especially over the lunchtime period and other outdoor activities.  It is a good idea for your child to wear a sun hat.  If they have one, please put it in their school bag.  You should ensure your child has sunblock applied prior to arriving at school in periods of hot weather and if you wish them to have further applications at lunchtime then you should send in sun-cream/block and we can help your child apply it.

Carwash and coffee morning

Many thanks to the Parent Council for organising the fantastic Coffee Morning and Carwash whish raised an amazing £932, with some donations still coming in. Many thanks for all of their hard work.
