Just one week to go until Cluich is Cànan! We’re all getting very excited as the big day approaches. Yesterday our pupils took part in a fantastic workshop with Àdhamh Ó Broin, Oifigear Cultair Ghàidhlig (Gaelic Cultural Officer) from Culture, Heritage & Arts Assembly, Argyll & Isles (CHARTS). During the session, we listened to traditional Gaelic stories from across Argyll and Bute and learned a song that we will be performing next week. Àdhamh will also be joining us on the day as MC, alongside local musicians who will be playing ceilidh tunes throughout the afternoon.

Below is the full programme for the event:

Finally, there are challenges on Seesaw for P1-7 to complete at home- these are low maintenance but a bit of fun to get involved in World Gaelic Week. We look forward to seeing your entries!

Dyslexia Awareness- Learning Together
Thank you very much to those of you who came along to Session One. I am keen to tailor these sessions as best I can so please do let me know your feedback/if you would like me to include anything in upcoming sessions.

Session Two: 4th March at 3.15-4.15
• Classroom Approaches (continued)
• Digital Technology

Please remember that your child does not need a formal dyslexia diagnosis for these sessions to be helpful. If your child has experienced barriers to learning, or if you would simply like to deepen your understanding, you are warmly encouraged to attend.

P7 Letters
In bags there are letters from the Child Health Team regarding P7 screening. Their next visit should be after the Easter holidays, we will let you know when we have the dates.

P4-7 Rugby
P4-7 Rugby will be continuing with Arran Martin every Thursday. Please continue to ensure that your child(ren) come to school wearing their rugby kit and sensible trainers. Bring school uniform to change into after. We suggest packing pants, socks and hoodies just in case, as we will be outside as much as possible. The pupils will be playing non-contact, but they are still likely to get muddy.

World Book Day- 5th of March
We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day. Children are invited to come to school dressed as their favorite book character. As always, we ask that you refrain from spending money on your outfit and encourage reusing a costume you already have or using it as a fun crafting opportunity using recycled materials.  If your child is in P4-7 and taking part in Rugby that day then please send their outfit with them in a bag to get changed into afterwards.

Throughout the day, learning will be themed around reading and storytelling. Classes will explore a range of books, take part in literacy‑based activities, and enjoy opportunities to share their favorite stories with one another. Our aim is to inspire a love of reading, spark discussion, and help pupils discover new authors and characters along the way.
