Message from the Parent Council

Hello, we are currently looking for new members!
Numbers have recently declined, and we have some roles to fill. We would love more parents and carers to join us. It’s not a huge commitment but it makes a great difference to our children’s school experience. We meet roughly only once a term with the Head Teacher and staff to discuss school improvement priorities, school trips, the curriculum and other key areas. We arrange parties for the children at Halloween and Christmas and fundraise to help school pay for their trips and resources. By joining, you will play an important role in supporting the school and helping to shape the best outcomes for all our child(ren).

Some of our pupils have summarised really nicely why they would love you to get involved, creating the below recruitment poster:

Curricular Cafes
AS you may be aware from the parent council minutes, throughout this year, we will be inviting you to our Curricular Cafes. This will be an opportunity for you to drop by and explore work, classroom displays, see our learning environment and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. These events will be in the calendar, sprinkled throughout the year to maximise partnerships between home and school and will be very relaxed.

Website Update:
The calendar has been updated to include key events, holidays, important information and celebrations throughout the year. These dates aim to provide a helpful guide and are will hopefully give a clearer picture of what the year ahead will look like for your young ones and families. Whilst we are confident that all the dates are correct- please let us know of any human error and we can change ASAP.

This Week’s News
We have had another fun-filled week here at Tayvallich Primary School! Instead of us telling you all about it, we thought it would be even better for you to hear directly from the pupils themselves. In this week’s brand new Tayvallich Headquarters Newsletter, the children share their very own highlights.
