Tayvallich Primary School is fundraising for Comic Relief
Childsmile
Childsmile will be carrying out their routine visit on Monday. This is not a dental inspection; they will simply be checking that our toothbrushing routines in school are being carried out correctly.
Pick‑Up Arrangements
This is a friendly reminder that any changes to pick up arrangements—outside of your child’s primary contacts—must be shared with the school via the enquiries email. This helps us ensure your child(ren) remain safe and that we are fully informed about who is collecting them. This includes- playdate arrangements where your child goes home with a friend, relatives, family friends, or for our older pupils, situations where your child is making their own way home.
P7s Extended Transitions
Every Wednesday afternoon, our P7 pupils will be continuing their 10‑week Enhanced Transition Programme designed to support their move to High School.
Heart Start CPR Training
We are very fortunate to be receiving CPR and vital life‑saving training on Wednesday. As part of the session, our P1–7 pupils will have the chance to learn about CPR in a gentle and age‑appropriate way.
P1-4- We kindly ask that P1-4 pupils bring their favourite teddy or stuffed toy to school on this day. They will be able to practise CPR techniques on their soft toy as part of the training experience.
Please note that, as we didn’t have enough interest this time, we won’t be running the parent or staff CPR training session after school. We hope to offer similar opportunities in the future.
Staffing Updates
We are pleased to share some important staffing news with you. As you may be aware, we have recently completed the appointment process for our new Depute Head Teacher. We would like to thank everyone involved for their contributions and support throughout this process.
We are delighted to announce that Leonie McMurdo has been appointed as our new Depute Head Teacher across Tayvallich, Glassary and Craignish. We congratulate her on this well‑deserved appointment.
We would also like to update you on staffing changes related to Mrs Fraser’s Principal Teacher role. During Mrs Fraser’s absence, Mrs Dixon will be stepping into the position of Acting Principal Teacher.
Looking ahead, we are pleased to confirm that from August, the Principal Teacher post will become a full‑time position. In this time, the role will be shared by Mrs Dixon and Mrs Campbell, who will both serve as Acting PTs until Mrs Fraser’s return.
We are very excited for them all and wish them every success in their roles
