Update week beginning 29th January

Burns (10)

This week has flown by again. From this week, I plan to put out my update on a Friday so that you have plenty of time to read it over the weekend ahead of the new week.

Whole School Trip

In assembly this week we talked about our planned whole school learning trip. Pupils will be discussing this further in workshops over the next two weeks and thinking about what we want to learn about, where we might go, how we might get there and the other practical things we need to consider like timings, cost, safety and food and drink. The trip is planned for the week beginning Monday 11th March and we will confirm the date as soon as possible for those of you who want to come and might need to book time off work.

Burns Night (day) and lunch

It was fantastic to be part our Burns celebrations on Thursday and see school filled with tartan, poetry, songs, home-made shortbread and dancing. In the morning we had a “Wee Rabbie” photo shoot for those children who wanted to take part. We also had a special guest visitor called Tartan Ted who came along with Twiglet the dog and featured in our festive photo booth. You can see some of the photos in our Gallery and here. For more photos and videos, don’t forget to check out Seesaw.

Consultation on Argyll and Bute Council’s Education Vision and Strategy

Argyll and Bute Education Managers have agreed to extend the consultation (please see the information issued here and on the documents page of our website). You might also find it helpful to see the powerpoint that has been written to help our children and young people to understand the consultation.  You can find that here.

The Parent Council may wish to arrange a meeting to discuss this further, if they feel that you would find this helpful.

Have a great week and you know where I am, if you need anything.
