STEMOVATORS – Oban, Tuesday 6th May

We were absolutely delighted to hear from Miss Fraser that our pupils did us proud in Oban on Tuesday. In addition, we were overjoyed to find out, through a surprise visit from Mia from SAMS on Thursday morning, that Tayvallich Team 1 had won 3rd Prize in the Climate Ready Classroom competition, which meant they were presented with a trophy, certificate and £75 of STEM resources for the school. This is a fantastic achievement!

We are hugely grateful to the staff who helped them prepare for this and to Stuart MacDonald from McLeods for coming into school to give them some professional advice around their designs too.

Well done everyone! Check out the photos here:

Street Drumming with Martin Douglas

The children and staff really enjoyed our second session of Street Drumming with Martin Douglas on Monday. Check out some pictures here: https://www.tayvallich.argyll-bute.sch.uk/street-drumming-with-martin-douglas/

Fabulous Family Fridays

We had an amazing treat today when author and Miss Fraser’s Grandad Trevor Black came and shared his book with children. Pictures and more information to follow next week – but please check bags for a copy of his book which each pupil was gifted. Many thanks to him and Miss Fraser for making this possible.

Car Wash and Coffee Morning

Saturday 10th May is the Parent Council’s annual Car Wash and Coffee Morning fundraising event so we hope to see as many of you there as possible. The children have been working very hard to make some wonderful items for you to purchase. For example, inspired by P1-4’s outdoor learning yesterday, P1-7 created their very own hapa zome (Japanese art using natural materials).

Check it out here to see what will be on sale: Coffee Morning Preparation – Tayvallich Primary School and ELC

Outdoor Learning with the Tayvallich Rangers.

Sal and Rowan will be back next Wednesday, so please don’t forget to send in suitable footwear, clothing and sun protection for the children as needed.
